Frank, << ALLTEL Awards Motorola CDMA2000 1x CONTRACT >> Good news. Thats the first in the US. I would have anticipated both Sprint PCS and possibly Verizon to announce ahead of ALLTEL. Hopefully they are not far behind. They have 6 million wireless subscribers although I'm not sure what the CDMA/AMPS mix is. They are an important roaming partner for Verizon. << Commercial software and hardware to allow customer implementation of 1x is expected to be available in the third quarter of 2001. >> Good wireless data tornado early warning. - Eric -
