LOF, thanks but that kind of makes my brain hurt. the Feb 35s are about $7 vs. the cree price of 37, so ~ $ 5 bucks of premium. (cash outflow)
I'm only saving $2.85 in taxes per share in selling. If cree moves up $3 by Feb I'm even with the tax liability, and could probably sell an april call for an additional $3 or $4.
Damn TAXES !!!

LOF, I think what you have described would be considered a wash sale by the IRS, especially if the calls were ITM.
