<Exactly. I very much expect a soft landing and no gains in the stock market all of 2001....>

Sorry, soft landing = way overvalued S&P... Dow and S&P down @ least 20% for the year, could be next month. These two index's will have the worst year since the 70's at least, I don't know why no analyst has considered this... it's not that hard to fathom.

MythMan,

Re softlanding

Interesting... I will of course co-operate and assist the authorities by buying the odd dip and selling lots of bounces -g- I've been a little greedy here buying poots and have wandered into margin, gonna have to sell 5% of my poots and trash to leave me perfectly straddled with longs and poots for a fresh start next year. Even with trading range working on a closing basis I can see the margin rating on all my stocks getting wiped out at one time or another.

We had lots of snow, 10 inches last night. That is a lot for here. Also we are going to see some record lows... zero deg. F, frozen sea etc etc. I had to buy some anti-freeze for my truck as it only was about 5%. I took me hours driving from gas station to gas station to buy some as they had all ran out. Why does all these gas station guys have to be like me and not plan ahead??? Geez! -g-

One posh looking lady (with husband in tow)offered to swap my 4WD truck for her brand new BMW. I was tempted, but one look at those wide, low profile sports tires told me it probably wasn't going to get home without at least one big dent in it. Rear wheel drive, lots of hills to negotiate, and not a plough in sight wow.-g-

I turned on the radio, to hear from our fearless leaders thaat the current weather was not statistically significant of any trend, and not to worry about anything when some dude... "Da Guv" of BOE, Sir Edward George (sp?) said things were slowing down in the USA. It was also announced on the major news networks too. It's official, "Da Guv" has spoken -g-

regards all,

pearly.
