To All,

Heard through the grapevine:

USIII on mid-range & high-end-servers has been in beta and it looks good. Performance numbers will match or beat the spec. Proposed ship dates haven't been changed. Production from last summer caused some delays. Those problems have been solved. All systems are go. Biggest customer complaints so far have to do with appl compatibility on Solaris 8. No sweat.

Memory cacheing errors are going to be history w/USIII and existing problems are minimal & environmental in nature.

No competitive threats seen from CPQ & HWP. IBM is still in the game but moving increasingly towards services.

Far East is solid. When Euro recovers (soon) Europe will be solid. Big orders expected in US for USIII workstations as well as the servers.
