2000 was my best year in the last 13 of trading. I was up over 100% for the year and was much higher if not for the fall from 11/06-12/29. Perhaps my biggest mistake was not holding my shorts such as ETOYS, LFMN, LOAX, and about 6 others I carried short from July. I am very fortunate perhaps because I took funds off the table at height of gains. My best bet was shorting drillers when oil was at 37BBL.

My biggest mistakes were selling HGSI and PDLI too early for CRA. I held 6K MYGN at 36 and sold at 48 2 splits ago! I do believe 2001 will be a stock picking year that will surprise MANY PEOPLE! NASD will not act as expected but I do see a nice 35-50% retracement over next 12-16 weeks. I see oil heading to the low 20's, and the fed moving very, very slowly at reducing rates. President Bush must compromise with fed regarding tax cut. As many investment managers believe Dow will outpace NASD I disagree. I believe earnings won't be as bad as expected, and the best sector going forward will be technology and inparticular the OPTIC,SWITCHES, and ROUTER space. I also believe tele-com will do much better then most expect, but chips, andbox makers will go sideways for the year.

I like retail an a non-tech sector along with select financials including insurers. In the retail space BJ and COST will outpace the pack. I believe AMTD will get taken out above $30.

My last point is about 3 geno stocks that fell with the tech stocks. I believe CRA will outpace all other bio-techs and I just re-entered at 32 this week. The other 2 are LEXG and MAXY. I do think money will go the the smaller players with the heavy weights like MLNM, HGSI, PDLI and DNA may go sideways to down as tech picks up steam.

My under $10 portfolio are as following INSP, PUMA, CRDS, and AMTD.

I do believe Fed has to watch very carefully how Japan handles its economy. If NIKKEE does not stabilize with nasd retracement ( which it did not do last summer) Fed will move quickly to lower our rates to try to stimulate ASIA's wow's. I am trying hard to hold on to some very special equities that I believe are at historical bottoms. When we do bounce to 3000 many investors will get left behind believng we are heading to 2200.

I wish everyone a wonderful New years, and a great 2001!! It will surprise many who thought we were heading LOWER!!!
