Well, HLIT warned 3 times now, and missed revised numbers back to back...I don't know how long you own this stock but many people thought it can't be this bad today. I wouldn't be surprise in 6 months when people talk about 5 straight quarters of disappointment.
"You should realize HLIT is a niche company serving a cyclical industry with only a handful customers" this statement of yours said it all about why I don't care to own this stock. I doubt you thought this was a "cyclical" industry before this crash.

As far as your comment about lack of management praise at 150...that comment has been used a million times on the Yahoo board...get real. Go back and read the message boards from the time the stock run from 100 to 150 and the Divicom acquisition announcement, tell me if if you don't find praises for management. Your comment is baseless here. Sure, there are more criticism when the stock is down but there were plenty of cheerleading on the way up. If you think the run up to 150 was not a bet on management ability and their products then what was it? hype?crazy valuation?unrealistic valuation? if the answer is hype and unrealistic valuation, then don't bet on this stock going back to 150 any time soon as most people hope it will.

"Keep in mind that when CIEN warned, its profitable quarters followed by the next 2 quarters of bleeding losses, LU was on top of the world and telcos were throwing money away. It was a much better economic environment than it is today. CIEN recovered because it had good product", unless I am misunderstanding what I am reading, this statement sounds exactly like what I wrote earlier why it is a bad reason to compare Cien to HLIT because many things have changed. Correct me if I am wrong here.

As far as the products themselves, I am not an engineer so I can't say much about how "good" they are. I do know one thing "the better mouse trap doesn't always win". One flaw many engineers have is the mentality that "if I build, they will come" kind of mind set. Thus, I pay more attention to managment ability to garner relationships because it takes a lot of political games and salemenship(is it even a word?) in this high stake tech game. Ley is no Chamber. Chamber to me is one of the best saleman in this business.
