CB, Being an old FL cracker, never subscribed to anything that started with New York in the title ;-) There was a program about the Basin on the Discovery Ch. or A & E. Although, I guess the Corp helped alot with the Miss. River they came close to destroying FL with the Cross State Barge Canal (failure), straightening out the Kissimmee River (allowing nutrient rich water & algae blooms in Lake Okeechobee) and draining the Glades with canals for development, farm land and sugar cane(destroying the flow to the Gulf, the mangrove breeding waters and lowering the fresh water acquifer) whew! But, watcha gonna do? South FL has gone to hell anyway. I also want to take the chance to thank you, heinz and everyone for participating on this thread.
