Prices got low enough that I dumped my QQQ's for a tax loss and put the money into IYW which tracks it pretty well, much better than those S&P tech sector shares. This is one of the I shares and is indexed to the Dow Jones US tech sector so a different index to stay clear of any wash rule issues. Not very liquid but the specialist will usually offer 25k shares to buy or sell with the spread usually up to 1/2 point most of the day. I was not interested in playing around with the wash rule using anything based on the NASDAQ 100. While the IRS enforcement has reportedly been lax lately I have heard some state that given the big losses this year it is possible they may be particularly watchful on looking at wash rule violations and the like if they get an audit.
