knkesh, I started acquiring shares for the long term, when Avanex started trading down into the 80's a while back. I added more shares at 44. Assuming things continue to do well, I plan on holding these shares for as long as ten years. These shares represent 2% of my portfolio.

I also have been trading 1.5% of my portfolio, in and out of Avanex as I see opportunities.

If you read my recent posts on last Friday, you will see, I bought back in. I did so, with my trading shares, inspite of your interesting heads up post on fiber burn out.

I chose to discount, the concerns, the contents of your post raised.

To start with Avanex's present and near term earnings, won't come from equipment sales in that area.

Next, the contents of your post bears further looking into.

take care, shaw
