Another major risk is that many of the so-called "leading" companies, such as CSCO are doing it with smoke and mirrors--pooling vs purchase accounting methods.

I'd like to point out that it appears that purchase vs. pooling will be a moot issue, soon enough. I guess the CSCO bashing focus will have to intensify on the options issue at that point<g>.

...it is inappropriate for anybody, whether they are right or wrong to be ridiculing those of differing opinions...

Sometimes I need reminding that every share I own was purchased from someone who was convinced that they would be better off selling, and every share I've sold was purchased by someone who saw great potential for appreciation at a reasonable price. Where would I be without these people? I'd not be able to either buy or sell.

As far as posting insults, It's more fun, and appropriate to pick their pockets in the market. As long as one realizes that continually walking among the crowd exposes their their pockets too, it's all part of the process, and the pile of loot at home is more important than the daily catch.

Few people have the temperament, discipline, and mental tenacity to trade profitably on a daily basis. I'm not among them, so I'll stand on the sidelines and allow them to pursue their quarry in their own way. I tend to sell enough shares in January to meet the year's expenses, but I'm not chained to this, and will not likely engage in any selling this year. I accept my limitations and have tailored my actions to my abilities. Sumo wrestlers make poor jockeys.

You are fortunate to have found investment vehicles which deliver both satisfactory returns and peace of mind. It's easy to forget that peace of mind is the more important of the two. Thank-you for reminding us.

Cheers, PW.

"Cambiar, a money manager that has not had a negative year in the past 25 years. Cambiar even did well in the bear market of the 70's.

Overall the professionally managed portfolio has about 50% of the risk of the S&P and about 80% of the upside potential."

what returns were produced in the last 2 years?......thanks!
