Eric, "The Operational Partners have evidently been appraised the CDG is in the process of changing its mission and scope and that this will be reflected within their technical activities."

Perhaps this explains the new 3GPP2 Working Group -

"TSG-R (Interface of 3GPP Radio Access Technology to 3G Core Network evolved from ANSI-41)"

3gpp2.org

Only a Charter and Workplan presently exist. No FTP files or documents. ------>

"The TSG Interface of 3GPP Radio Access Technology to 3G Core Network evolved from ANSI-41 (TSG-R) is responsible for the Interworking Function specification of Interface of 3GPP Radio Access Technology to 3G Core Network to an evolved ANSI-41 core network.

Specifically, it has a responsibility for:

Management of work items placed under its responsibility

More specifically, TSG-R will address the following areas of work:

Interface to accommodate evolving UTRA features which may include WP-CDMA and other features as determined by 3GPP.

Minimal enhancements/modifications of UTRA radio technology, if necessary, to accommodate ANSI-41 Core Network.

Support handoff between existing cdmaOne (2G) and UTRA radio technology (both intersystem and intrasystem handoff).

Roaming issues for UTRA handset between GSM core network and ANSI-41 core network.

User terminal equipment and infrastructure for the above.

Liaison or joint work efforts, as appropriate, with other 3G groups."
