Dan,

Some people apparently got their IWill Ali based DDR boards. Here are some posts on AMD Zone BBS: amdzone.com

Apparently, this vendor: advanceddesignky.com has them in stock. $169 regular, $189 for RAID versions.

They have PC-2100 memory in stock as well for $170.

Joe

PS: No 133 MHz CPU's in stock. I guess you have to do the "pencil trick" and lower multiplier to get 133 MHz FSB

"Intel's Financial Hit"

Intel will hurt badly but even the very worst case scenario that you describe could be absorbed by Intel for a number of years. They have $14 billion in cash and earned almost $12 billion (b/4 taxes) through the first three quarters of the current year. Yes I know a good chunk of that is investment gains, but the point is that if they want to drive AMD into the ground they can.

They should run into anti-trust problems if they are willing to operate at breakeven and even the most die hard Intel loyalist doesn't want Intel to go to breakeven point.

I think anti-trust laws and Intel's willingness to take a hit are the two considerations; not their ability because they clearly can do it if they want.

Hope this makes sense and isn't too "off the wall."

Regards,

Jeff

RE:Re: what would drive AMD above $20 a share?
If they make a little money this quarter and next (as opposed to being "roadkill") a stunned wall street may bid AMD up quite a bit."

All it would take is better general market conditions. Unfortunately, wall street will buy Intel first...
