Aftermarket and Scandisk

Aftermarket: after scanning the circulars, I recall:

a) Best Buy: camcorders running on MMC, CF, and Memstick. Only a la carte media I saw was a 64MB CF card, in bright red SanDisk.

b) CompUSA - Lexar still selling card/jumpshot combos (48MB+js, 64MB+js); the discounts aren't nearly as cheap as they were several weeks ago (they were unbelievable for a short while there).

c) Staples - don't recall any at all

ScanDisk:

My gut suggests to me that the name SanDisk is pretty awful. But who knows, maybe marketing can cure that.

Q: Where'd the name come from? A piece of trivia I'd like to know.

TIA

Andre
