Joe, I agree. It seems to me too many people are getting caught up in 2000 being the worst year on record, we should all remember 1999 was the best year on record. It seems normal to me to give back 1/2 of the exaggerated gains of last year. Bottom line is long term is up and will continue to be until baby boomers cash out of stocks in approximately 8 to 10 years, all demographic studies illustrate this.

Joe, thanks much. And I agree that the comparisons to 29 are near-sighted, as are comparisons to 1974. This is a different world. Unlike both those years, the technology we have now actually works!! Now if we were investing in stocks that were researching time travel and light speed travel, I'd agree. In 29, they had turned the market into a giant casino. And in the mid to late 70's the woes of the world were extremely heavy, the economy was slow. . .unemployment was running rampant. . .as was inflation. . . oil, gold and silver were all the rage. I fail to see the simularities. Today's productivity is unprecedented.

Anyway, thanks again.
