Do you have any clues as to why the Transports are doing so well? I have been scrolling through them and it seems the railroads and airlines are really kicking it here. With fuel costs high, are they trying to look over the valley to when costs come down? It seems that the 3 main sectors I see up right now are transports, fuels and grocery chains excepting Albertsons with a few biotechs also doing well.

Looking at Grocers, I can understand we will all have to eat regardless of the economy and there aren't many places to get food other than your local chain. The airlines on the other hand are facing increasing fuel costs, labor disputes in a tight market and if recession hits, then there will likely be less goods transported as well as less business trips in this era of telecomunication. Is this just brain dead flight to safety? In trying to figure this out, I also looked to the chemical companies and they do seem to be discounting lower future fuel costs. Of course the obvious faulty logic of this is......

Gas companies are still doing well and the charts are still bullish. Not as bullish as I would expect since SLB is still only flirting with 98-99 levels but they look to be moving up showing no signs of lower fuel prices and the Natural gas stocks are still going almost vertical.

Just a little FA as we close out this old year and bring in the new.

Happy New Year to everyone. It was great to get this board hopping again.

I still think down short term before a more lasting bounce can start in a couple weeks BWDIK.

Where's Dennis? Telephone dead under the weight of the snow?

Good Luck,

Lee

Thanx Haim; I knew they had a lot of dept but didn't
realize they got in that trap of falling assets value , sort of like the last people to buy a home before real estate prices fall.
