Greta~I believe this took place yesterday, and yes she survived. I hesitated to post this because it was an article that I saw while involved in a conversation. If my life depended on a yes or no, I would say this was carried out yesterday...

There is nothing to respect about injustice to human beings. Nothing whatsoever.

This is such a sad story. Not only does she have a baby she gets whipped for it. And WHERE are the men? I think a little genetic testing could clear this little problem right up- it would prove she was telling the truth about at least ONE of them. Too bad they don't have the technology.

My God, what a horrific and cruel story about the Nigerian woman, Ms. Magazu. I'd not seen it, nor your thread, or I would have commented. This caning, and the possibility that it might be fatal

Some interpretations of sharia hold that the flogger
must hold the Koran under his arm while he administers the blow, which suggest she might survive the flogging; if
the lashes are delivered at full force, 180 blows may prove fatal.

it's incomprehensible to me, this degree of cruelty, particularly since a number of the men she implicated not only were not punished, but were protected. If anyone finds out if the flogging has not yet taken place (I read that Solon thinks it may have happened today)I'll write a letter to Amnesty International.

I'm glad you posted that here, Greta. And so sorry that things like this take place.
