I agree with Olu. Dropping support for Java may be the best way to make sure that Microsoft is NOT "the future."

Java has several key problems which has already doomed it in many developer circles on Linux. C++ is a dying language, we can easily agree upon that. But C# has big potential - remember who designed it. Anders Hejlsberg was the guy behind Borland Delphi (and C++ Builder) and Microsoft J++, and the C# language has the same market potential as the rest of Microsofts software.

And since nobody is forced to use C#, but can use many other languages, and java will probably become one of the supported languages on CLI, too, the .net platform is solid in regard to language support.
