QCom, even on the Boston servers I'm frequently seeing delays of up to 30 seconds in the update of option quotes of specific exchanges as compared to my broker's OPRA feed. What's your explanation for that? Wasn't the IP Feed supposed to cure all this?

Dave

This is no big deal, but the S&P "futures" charts do not reflect the correct time frame for end-of-year settlement. The market closes, on settlement days (4 times a year for the S&P Futures contracts), at 4:05 instead of 4:15.

The 10 minutes of airspace the QCharts feed shows on those dates makes trend lines false for charts ... particularly any chart of less than 10-minute duration. 1-min charts, for example, are grossly in error.

Time heals all chart wounds, but perhaps your folks should correctly set the time frame for an event which is well-known in advance, and always occurs according to exchange regulations.

Thanks. Happy New Year.

Temple

To Quote.com, Jay:
Last hops of tracert to Boston-r04,
The data start, stopage burst IS happining on Boston servers- While the new ip feed may have helped it DID NOT FIX the data bandwith problems your CO is experiancing. I also show lag of 2 to 6 tp 11 sec on connection status box in lower right hand corner of Q-charts at 10:30 est. and I have fast cable modem.
This has been happining on Boston as well as other servers, for some time now. High vol only makes it worse- Fact- your system/hardware/software cannot handle high vol.

To Quote.com,
Data burst, stop/start, data 4 to 8 second data stopage then burst of data come through- happens here to John, and I just switched to fast cable modem from a 56K dialup- still makes no differance. This has been going on for a year now. Happens whenever vol goes up- daily. I have another data feed- satellite, when qcharts stops for a breath the time and sales on the satellite feed keeps on flying by.
I am sick of being ripped off by Quote.com.
