Jack (Bogle) is nicely balanced between stocks and bonds. With almost 60% in the stock market, he has positioned his portfolio to grow over time.

Sounds like my investment strategy overall. Since 1987, I have about 30% in bonds, 40% in an S&P 500 index fund, and the rest in the trading portfolio.

You won't make the 100% total gains in the year, but you stay in the game in the long run.
