This article discusses communications/media mergers, but doesn't mention Viacom/Yahoo! specifically:
rd.yahoo.com*http://www2.marketwatch.com/news/yhoo/story.asp?source=blq/yhoo&dist=yhoo&guid=%7BCE031939%2D7FE0%2D424D%2D9F9B%2DAC673731B12B%7D

However, it is interesting to note that Marketwatch was acquired by CBS, and CBS is part of Viacom, and Yahoo! ads appear on the CBS/Marketwatch page mentioned above. It looks like Yahoo! and CBS/Viacom are already working together.

Still, seems like a stretch that VIA could come close to reconciling the valuation differences between Viacom and Yahoo! Since Yahoo! is profitable these days, it would take some doing to bring Koogle and friends to the buyout table.
