Good post, Pierre. Another 500 million will get G* to break even in all probability and I think that money will be found when needed. I also tend to think that we will not be wiped out, diluted perhaps, but not wiped out. I am looking forward to see what unfolds over the next few weeks.

Pierre:

<<So my point is the G* crown jewels are the sats and the software that knits those sats and gateways into a network, not the gateways themselves. As you have pointed out, the gateways are relatively inexpensive, and there are a lot of unused ones sitting around right now gathering dust.>>

Actually, The point I was trying to make is that no one part of the system is the Crown Jewels. The Sats are worthless without the Gateways, The Gateways are useless without the Sats, and none of it is useful without Qualcomm!! The only part of the system that is owned and operated by GLP is the satellites... And from a Business Enterprise, owning the satellites without Gateways and the regulatory approval for the Gateways is Valueless.. Even the Regulatory Approval to operate the Satellites is not owned by GLP.. The regulatory approval for the user links is owned by L/Q Licensee...

The FCC gave regulatory authority of constellation to L/Q Licensee. And GLP operates their fleet of satellites under an agreement with L/Q Licensee to use L/Q's regulatory authority!! If someone bought the constellation in Bankruptcy!! They would "in effect" not even have regulatory approval to transmit data to/from the User Terminals.. Without applying for Regulatory Approval from the FCC.. It is a tangled web of multiple parties, and multiple companies.. And only if all the parties/parts of the system work in harmony.. Then, and only then, does the resulting sum of the parts have value, and is able to generate revenue.. It is similar to the way Iridium was structured.. And everyone who looked at buying Iridium that was not blessed by Motorola, soon found that Iridium was Valueless without all the parties/parts coming together.

Imagine if AT&T bought GLP and it's assets in BK..

The first thing they would need to do is acquire/install the spare Gateways!! IF SOMEONE DID NOT BUY THEM IN BK!! OK? So here are some un-installed Gateways.. I am sure they need new Software/Hardware for Data, in addition to a license from Qualcomm to use CDMA.. Who is going to install the Gateways??? Qualcomm could just decline to help.. After all, they would not have too!! And Qualcomm could re-organize their employees that worked on the project.. So now someone owns the Satellites, has no regulatory approval to operate the satellites, Probably has no license from QCOM to use CDMA, Gateways in a Box with outdated Software/Hardware, And no one who knows how to install them correctly!!

How much are the assets that GLP owns worth?

And by my count.. There is less than 8 Gateways that are unowned left!!

<Owning the system, and knowing how to forge the agreements, or simply transfer the agreements, is the key to G*'s value. And G* owns all of that.>

The only thing that GLP owns are some satellites (without regulatory approval to operate them) and the IPR that goes with the system.. That is it!! Nothing else!!!
