If I had slept with them all, I would have had major trouble. As it was, some people did think I slept with most of the hot women on campus, and it could cause static when I showed serious interest in someone. I can see your problem with Die Hard. I myself am sensitive to gross unreality in certain films, so your objection makes sense to me. It is just an area in which I have little experience. Valley Girl was a real charmer. I thought that Cage was weak in Moonstruck and Peggy Sue Got Married, strong enough in Leaving Loss Vegas, which, nevertheless, I didn't much care for, and pretty funny in Honeymoon in Vegas. I thought he did a good job in City of Angels, although I didn't like the film nearly as much as Wings of Desire, and thought the ending trite. Generally, I think he is talented but uneven, and a lot depends on his director. The other films you mentioned, I have not bothered with, although I wanted to see the one where he drives an ambulance, which I believe is a Scorsese film. Lest you think me too squeamish, I am a David Lynch fan. I just have not taken to Fincher. The skating scene in To Die For occurs as the end credits roll. I never got around to Wild Things. I must, someday soon. Did you see The Opposite of Sex, with Christina Ricci? That was very good. Unfortunately, my maternal grandfather was abusive. He didn't beat the girls, and the uncle who became an orthodontist learned early how to get in his good graces, but the other three caught hell, to varying degrees. The eldest, who committed homicide, still had fantasies of "showing him (my grandfather)" well into middle age. Then my grandfather provided money for his defense, and eventually died, and now my uncle has crazily put him on a pedestal, and thinks him to have been a sage...... Family is both blessing and curse, because it is imposed......
