One key here is what the herd did with 401k allocations for this new year and quarter. If they switched to bond and money market type funds, kiss the rampster mutual fund managers and the equity market goodbye.

So much for the "end of tax selling" bounce da bulls were expecting. As I mentioned before, everyone that was smart enough to do a little tax planing sure wasn't waiting until the stroke of 4:00 last friday to get things put to bed for 2000.

Yes, but as predicted, as has occurred in every other bubble implosion, the localized destruction is now severe enough that *all* sectors will suffer as a result, including the housing market.
