Cisco Systems (CSCO) 34 3/8 -3 7/8: Stock continues to be hit by trading floor speculation that the company will preannounce, with this talk being fuelled by recent warnings from Foundry (FDRY) and f5 (FFIV). CEO John Chambers will be presenting at a Jan 10 Morgan Stanley Dean Witter conference, and there are fears that he will guide numbers lower at that appearance.

m..3: I'm not 100% sure it's tax driven, but it sure smells like it's money driven. bambs theory of lock in profits would elicit similar behavior.

Volume today big.

But I confess hopeless at calling absolute bottoms or tops in advance... hence my "itch to get back in" won't get scratched until I see a bottom.
