I was in 1rst Battalion also. We got all the awards also. I mean every stinking one of them. We also got to stay there a bit longer than most as we had an exposure to spinal menangitus. They locked us in the white 2nd battalion buildings that weren't in use. In the end we got to use the new buildings. What a treat. Great barn. Saw Full Metal Jacket last night. That DI in the movie was an actual USMC DI before he retired and went on to acting.
