If you were correct in your interpretation of the actions of the administration- in- waiting, then perhaps it would not be leadership. If I am correct, and it is time to acknowledge that things are sluggish and could become worse, well, it is leadership. It is pretty simple, and depends on what "time" you think it is.......

I agree with you WT. This assortment of Ford and Bush I era retreads, led by a mental midget who was a drunk until his late thirties, and who has never earned a dime or accomplished anything noteworthy on his own (i.e., without the help of his daddy and his daddy's rich friends in Texas) in his entire life, is enough to drain anybody's confidence about the future. Now we get recycled hacks from past administrations, combined with a bunch of conservative ideologues in key positions where their influence can be most felt by a disbelieving center. This is, and has been from day one, about politics -- getting "elected" (and i use that term very loosely) and then bludgeoning the conservative agenda upon an unknowing public (a large portion of which were snookered into supporting this guy based on the promise that he would "lead" from the "middle"). The appointment of Ashcroft as AG puts a quick end to the pretense of compassion underlying Bush's conservatism. Its just conservatism, as we all knew it would be despite his campaign to the center. I can't wait to see what other political dishonesties emerge as the assembly of this illegitimate administration continues. MST
