that's the problem with 'hedges'...when they're put on the wrong way, they can hurt. see ASL in the Sept. '99 gold price spike...their 'hedge' almost bankrupted them.

where do you see 'most investment houses' recommending long Euro? only AFTER the train left the station did some hop aboard. when the actual lows were made, 80 cents was touted as a 'certainty'.

all that said, we don't know for a fact what GE Capital's currency positions look like, so this is merely idle speculation anyway.
