Ed I've seen them come and go over the years. There have been a few real morons in the group however. Some got in very serious legal trouble with the SEC and made for interesting times here on SI. One was a kid who lived in his grandmothers house here in the Seattle area. We used to go at it pretty good but I stopped posting to him when the stories got beyond reality.. I wonder what he is doing today. We all have to keep this in perspective. Talked to one of my broker friends at a national brokerage house in Seattle this morning and he said that there were virtually no margin calls this morning and that it was quite a bit worse a few weeks ago. They sent out letters to clients and "upped" margin requirements to get investors better positioned. The problem is that nobody wants to buy here. I bought a bunch of stuff on margin the last few weeks but I'm still fortunately only 3% into margin.. I'm trying hard to keep the powder dry! It's just so tempting here.. When the fed finally cuts rates we will have a huge pop. We are just so terribly oversold here which will make the move more violent when it finally happens.
