What started the sell off today were stocks still selling at higher ratios where institutions still had profits from early 2000. Then the RS downgrade. Meanwhile the shorts held onto their 2000 profits while the market tanked. Probably a few more days of this. Need the Fed to cut and the taking of 2000 profits to play out with some level of short covering to start any kind of turnaround and potential rotation to the fallen angels. All IMHO of course, but we have seen these kind of starts to a new year before.

Herschel, it was nice to see NTOP up amidst all the carnage. Normally I would view it as a positive sign and I guess secretly I do, but it is so hard to be even cautiously optimistic in this market about any Internet stock. The market just needs to find a bottom and those with any money left need to be positioning it where it will recover the quickest. NTOP IMO is one of many places to be for that. The reaction in the face of today's selloff reinforces that belief. I just want the market to find a bottom already so that when news hits, the stock doesn't have to fight the market.
