LG Electronics New LCD Monitor/TV Includes Two Genesis Video Processing Chips
LG Relies On Genesis Chips For Superior Progressive-Scan Video Output
SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 20, 2000--Genesis Microchip (Nasdaq:GNSS - news) today reported LG Electronics' new Platron LCD285 LCD monitor/TV uses two Genesis chips for high-quality progressive-scan video output.

The 22-inch Platron LCD285 supports a variety of video inputs feeding an exceptional SXGA LCD screen, which offers sharp images, no flicker and wide viewing angles. The monitor also boasts a built-in TV tuner and easy-to-use onscreen display controls. Interlaced video is converted to enhanced progressive-scan video via the Genesis gmVLX1A-X and gmAFMC chips.

``This is yet another successful design win for Genesis,'' said J. H. Kim, an LG Senior Manager. ``We're excited to use these chips in an LCD-TV application. The video quality is excellent and no one else seems to have a chipset that compares with it.''
