"Mr. G... is Ahab chasing his White Whale of the Naz and he is going to drag us all with him."

"When a man suspects any wrong, it sometimes happens that if he be already involved in the matter, he insensibly strives to cover up his suspicions even from himself. And much this way it was with me."

Guess who.

limtex- Ed Yardeni has been smarter than most for years.
(...Got tagged in Y2k moderator role last year and lost that round). His view right now:

"A contrarian approach suggests
that either there will be no landing, or a much harder landing than anyone imagines. I'm leaning toward the more sanguine surprise scenario, though I do worry about deflation. If so, then the stock sectors that have been most
depressed by recession worries should bounce back best. These include retailers, banks, and technology. In my latest commentary, I introduce a simple, but effective stocks/bonds asset allocation model, which has turned
more bullish on stocks recently. "

PUBLIC: My TEN BIG THEMES for the year ahead (and beyond) are summarized in two handy pages at yardeni.com.
