What can a prospective customer of Globalstar expect to pay and what are they getting for their dollar, kiwi buck, etc? -Is the minute price $1.69 for sat time only, with standard cellular rates in effect when in digital / analog mode? -Does a cellular call drop when out of cell range, requiring the caller to re-dial via the satellite mode? -Are two separate phone numbers still needed, one for cell and one for sat mode? -Are there other billing surcharges tacked onto calls like there are with cellular, i.e.: roaming, long distance, etc? I've been reading this board for 4 years and still don't understand how this system really operates and it appears many others here are just as confused. Another sign of a poor marketing and sales implementation?

Rocket Scientist, I just returned home from the road, saw your post and dug out the monthly bill from G*USA. It was in totum,$61.75 for the period ending 12/16/00. Of that amount $1.80 was an unspecified tax or surcharge. The type of plan I opted for at the time of purchase(last August} was called The Freedom 20. I repeat that there were no calls made. The basic charge of $59.95 was described as "Monthly Activity - 1 Service". I hope this is of some help to you, God knows I need it! As always Hedgehog 26.
