Thanks Zheng for the links and the summaries. The question is, With the new Japanese capacity coming on line, and with Atmel's new capacity coming on line, will we have OVER capacity? Normally, one would say Yes. I think, however, that this time demand for additional capacity may actually not outstrip new supply. Even the one seeming negative statistic, the growth rate in demand dropping from 31% in 2000 to 20% in 2001, should hardly be considered negative. A 20% growth rate is still incredibly impressive.

Given some of the garbage ("personals" column, flaming, personal attacks) being posted on Yahoo, maybe a new Atmel thread is not such a bad idea. Cheers/t
