That's sort of akin to sitting on the tree branch that you're sawing.

True story. When I was a freshman in highschool, my science teacher with a chain saw did indeed saw off the branch of a tree he was cutting. He had stitches all over his head and face when he came back to school, though I believe it was the branches during the fall that got him, not the actual saw.

This is also the same guy that tried to drive this POS rusted beat car of his through flooded stream in the county. They pulled the car out at the next road crossing about two miles down stream.

I always liked that guy<GGG>

BTW, I got most of the ice off(at least the area where it was leaking. I had a whole pool of water up there that was being blocked by the ice at the gutters. All I could get done before dark was a channel to drain the water. The dripping has subsided for now. More work required tomorrow. A little help from mother mature would be nice, but I see the forecast is for more snow and temps. only getting to the low 30s for the rest of the week.

Kerry,

Thanks for the lesson. But I can assure you.....there is no way I will be needing to put it to practice. Nor will anyone else in my house. We shall let nature take it course. We really do not have a major problem and no leaks. After the last gutter ripping slide, we put a new roof on the entire house.....<$$ouch$$>. Along with the new roof some different venting options. It seems to have helped.

If I ever come across anyone that needs the help you offer, I will gladly point them to your instructions.

A Happy and Healthy New Year to you and your as well!!

Jane
