I agree 100% with this statement. My comment was more directed at any move in January. Now, if Greeny moves 50 basis points and does it before 1/31 THAT might move the markets but I don't think that'll happen. I do believe 25 basis points on 1/31 will be met with selling... 50 basis points is expected if there is no intermediate move. 75 basis points on 1/31 would be positive but that ain't gonna happen.

All this said, if the fed continues to soften and take a more doveish stance on inflation (difficult given employment and the recent NAPM report on raw material costs) eventually the markets will react positively. Now, I do believe that valuations are coming into line with earnings and soon - regardless of fed action - things will get back to "normal"....whatever that is.
