Your rant was as coherent as the last 4 paragraphs of Maurice's... show me anything in the Republican platform that threatens free enterprise....? If upholding the laws of the country is going to hurt business somehow, then rewrite the laws, instead of trying to do it all by judicial fiat. Whatever happened to following the laws established before the election? Oh yeah, SCOTUS, and every other court other than the Florida Kangaroos found that the rule of law prevails, despite all the democratic gnashing of teeth. Please feel free to join Alec Baldwin in exile... I think he and Kim Bassinger are due to leave any minute now...

What ever happened to 1 man, 1 vote, and an honest count for the electors?

visit trustthepeople.com to learn about what's gonna happen on Jan 6th:

Use the Constitutional checks and balances devised by our Founders to protect the integrity of our democracy!

On behalf of Democratic Members of Congress, Democrats.com has collected and synthesized specific credible allegations of official misconduct, deliberate fraud, and conspiracy to suppress voter turnout through illegal methods in Florida. These will serve as the foundation for a challenge to Florida's electors.

As set forth in 3 U.S.C. section 15, Congress will convene in joint session at 1 p.m. next Saturday January 6th, presided over by the President of the Senate (Vice President Al Gore). He will open the Certificate of Ascertainment from each state in alphabetical order and call for objections. The electors from Florida will be challenged, and possibly the electors from Texas as well.

As the law says, "Every objection shall be made in writing, and shall state clearly and concisely, and without argument, the ground thereof, and shall be signed by at least one Senator and one Member of the House of Representatives before the same shall be received."

The House and the Senate will then meet separately to debate the challenge for 2 hours. A simple majority is sufficient to uphold a challenge.

We believe such a challenge is not only justified by the facts, but is also mandated by history in order to preserve the integrity of our democracy. This is about more than who becomes president. It is about what kind of a country that person will become president of.

These procedures were used in 1877 (leading to the selection of Rutherford B. Hayes) and in 1969 (when an elector who voted for George Wallace was challenged). Since the Constitution specifically confers the power of evaluating electors on Congress and not the Supreme Court the final word rests with our elected representatives. Be sure they hear from you! With a Democratic majority in the Senate (with Vice President Gore's tie-breaking vote) we need just 5 Republican Members who are unwilling to tie their fortunes to the dubious belief that the election in Florida was fair. Over time, as the clarity of Gore's victory in Florida and the magnitude of the Bush brothers' complicity in stealing this election grow, we believe this vote to uphold the Florida electoral results will become a disasterous mark of dishonor that will cost them their seats.

Even if this challenge does not succeed in disqualifying Florida's or Texas's electors, we believe it will electrify and galvanize the Democrats in Congress and the nation at large. It will demonstrate the breadth and depth of the popular support for Democratic priorities and serve as the strongest possible warning against Republican extremism and recklessness.
