Bernard,

I agree.

I have posted on the Q and Vol threads for a couple of months now that what is happening is entirely a product of Greenspans irrational obsession with the Naz.

Over the weekend Summers came out and said that 'the economy had been growing at +5%. We could not continue with the Nasdaq being as high as it was.'

Maintaining interest rates at this ludicrously high level has been nothing less than a sustained attack on the Naz.

He is keeping it up until the last possible moment and every day now more massive damage is being done. It seems pretty clear now that foreign investors are now pulling out of the Naz. As the risks are not only the Naz but also the $. Even the Euro looks good today!

He is polaying with fire and could easliy push the World into a depression. I don't think that it will take much more of this to do that.

The man in my view has simply become obssessed and should be removed from his responsibilities. He had/has it in his power to turn this problem around. If we were not right in the middle of a change in administration someone, President or Congress could call him in and talk to him. But yet another of the unfortunate parts of this mess is that as we sit here today there is no-one who is going to push him.

The outgoing administration aren't going to bother. Why should they do anything that will take the pressure off the incoming administration after this election of all elections.

So to put in a nutshell we are all of us, indeed the Whole World economy, in his hands. The prospect is just appaling.

But he could even at this late stage stop it. Its not too late.

Best regards,

L
