Victor: I agree that he is free to speak more than to act to influence stock prices. He did inject massive liquidity to stave off the collapse of the system in the wake of LTCM's meltdown. That really was serious business. And I think he will cut steadily during the spring -- but not aggressively enough to bolster the case for buying stock.

BTW Victor -- good has been doing ok for a few days now. Today gold stocks moved up nicely despite the fall in bullion prices. Perhaps gold has bottomed.
