President Clinton issues an executive order revoking his first executive order, entitled "Ethics Commitments by Executive Branch Appointees." The White House touted that Jan. 20, 1993, order in a press release as "establishing the most stringent ethical requirements of any administration ever." The original order restricted administration officials from lobbying the federal government until five years after the officials left office, or from ever representing foreign governments.
