Leigh,

I am telling you, never a dull moment in this house.

Mike came home not feeling well, and pretty much went right to bed. That meant putting all 4 children to bed was on me. I got them all to bed and breathed a sigh of relief.

A few minutes later I hear Kevin at the top of the stairs...

I ask him what the problem was. He told me he could not sleep. I told him he needed to get back into his bed and try again. I could not have been back downstairs from putting them all to bed for more than 5 minutes when this occurred.
I hear the patter of his little feet going back down the hall. A minute later I hear more feet. They sound like bigger feet this time. Sure enough it is his sister. She brings me this report.

Mom, when Kevin got in bed, he said out loud, I think I know what the problem is. <pause> I want nice parents.

All I could do is laugh, knowing how spoiled he really is. But this was to good to just chuckle about. I had to go talk to him, and figure out what was on his mind. I said....."So Kevin, you think you know what the problem is, you need nice parents?" He promptly replied, "yes" I further prompted, "so you think I am mean?? Again he agreed. First he said, "cause you always say NO" I want you to say yes." He continued, with out realizing the implications of what he was saying....."I want you to say Yes, like last night you let me get out of bed and come back downstairs. I want to do that tonight too."

With that I hugged and kissed him and told him he needed to stay in bed. I reminded him that yesterday he took a really long nap and that today he did not. He hugged me, complained that he could not sleep, and then added, "But I still love you Mommy"

smiles
