1. Sad but true
2. I agree
3. Recession possible, but a minor one
4. A little over the edge, L.
5. Not from these levels
6. Why should we care what analysts are saying? They have motives that aren't usually aligned with our interests.

>> I don't believe you can have a market a large and growing percentage of which is occupied by 'traders'.

Why not? They serve an important role in providing liquidity.

>> Still hope is alive.

Simply amazing <lol>.

Me, too.

limtex..."mr hope and mr market will take all of the gains"

and if they do, then those that willingly gave up the gains deserve their plight.....

investing has no room for optimism or pessimism....the only "ism" that should always be prevalent is "realism"....

todays ibd "investors corner" addresses this..

no houses, no angels, no faith......only prerequisite to investment success is the ability to admit a position has gone against you and cut your losses short...

i'm always bullish, in the sense that indices are biased to the upside over a period of years........but to sit fallow, or blame "houses" as your positions are decimated is a bit foolish........almost as foolish as not taking profits off the table, in belief that doing so will preclude opportunity....

can't spend opportunity, can't pay bills with losses....only the profits increase wealth.....

no reason to always be in the market, or attempt to trade a falling knife......not necessary to seek out and attempt to create opportunity....best to let it appear and then grasp hold....

all the externals be they the fed, houses, or boogey men can only cause harm if you have such a faith that precludes you from admitting error..........trying to prove all else wrong and you are correct can be devastating....

bottoms are selectively forming in specific issues, but initial bottoms can be choppy......low pe, high growth/value will lead.....

good luck
ed a.
