Can you explain this a little more in detail. Is it like taking investment related expenses against gains or is more relaxed so that any transactions outside of UK ( including credit card charges as debits or award bonuses on CC purchases) on US brokerage firm accounts OK.

yes, that comparison certainly makes my whining seem unwarranted <g> but then, your public transportation system is top-notch- the 'tube' rules! who needs a car when you can ride the 'tube' or those spiffy double-decker buses carooming thru london.
