jim willie merely feeling the reality of the current market, and voicing an opinion that clearly states that certain strategies based on vapor have been devastating to those who attempted same....

I think we need to keep the following in mind!! Posted by Jazzcat: Why attack those on this porch??? Post #27956

Take a look at virtually every major professional stock picker over the past year. All these "houses" have maintained "outperform" and "above" ratings on most every stock that has been hit so hard. They get paid to offer advice.

Why not outrage at these paid professionals???......I see none....Yet folks feel free to blame and attack those on this porch. This is not right!

Hi edamo,

Once again I'm way behind on the porch...... anyway.... you made some very good comments in your post..... however.....

I think JWCB was a bit too harsh in some of his comments regarding those who might be led into volatile stocks that RR was trading options on..... the facts are clear about RR's style as well as his numerous disclaimers..... there are too many of them to even try to discount these cold, hard facts.....

I do not think JW crossed the line with his POV..... perhaps it was straddling the fence IMVHO..... And I say this as a good friend of JW (I just firmed up plans to meet him for dinner tomorrow)..... bottom line is that I strongly disagree with any implication that RR led folks astray.

Based on your post, I must strongly disagree with you if you think that the facts & documentation portray RR as a pied piper type. The facts just do not support this at all. There is nothing that will stop some 'noveau genius investor' types from using thread leaders as their main source of DD while they foolishly try to emulate that person's investing style..... when they lack the experience & abilities..... regardless of warnings & disclaimers..... the world is loaded with folks who went to the school of hard knocks.

IMVHO, RR has gone beyond the call of duty in sharing his thoughts, investing style & opinions..... I strongly maintain that RR has been clear in his cautions that what he does is highly risky & he is buying options in volatile stocks & not the right style for the, 'noveau genius investor'..... however, he has shown that one can make money in a market that is in a bear correction..... and those who work hard, have a plan, set tight limits to protect capital and can be nimble.... can learn to make money in a tough market..... to paint his actions as anything unseemly is patently wrong IMVHO.

The facts are clearly in support of my POV.

I submit that we should do everything to silence the charlatans when the facts clearly indicate there is one among us...... but do not stifle those who are open, honest, experienced & willing to share & help others learn...... because of the few 'noveau genius investors' who were going to learn the hard way anyway.

I seriously think both you & JWCB make a number of excellent points & we all should give serious consideration of your insightful POV's.....

Regards,
