Chic, Ed is right. You are just not serious. To compare todays economy in any way to 1929 is just plain childish on your part. And talking about nasdaq 500, well you can fill in the blanks. Go back to announcing the Laker games. Mike

Chic,

I have to hand it to you in that while you've taken very controversial positions you've done so in a manner that has been above board and in the interest of sharing opinions. I would hate to see you lose everything you've gained on the downside. I'm aware that there are those that compare todays market action to the great depression but those that have this belief are few. There are significant differences in our country today - not the least of which is the welfare state created out of what occured in 1929. The market is broader, the participants are greater. I don't forsee a meltdown like the one you predict. Most importantly I would hate to see you ADD to your shorts on rate reductions... this runs counter to just about every luminary, economist, analysts, strategist out there. You'd be a fish swimming up a very strong current.

If you must, you must. But you may want to consider taking some profits.
