OT - JPQ, Gold/Cash/Taxes/Opportunity costs

I wasn't cutting losses, just opportunity cost. I got out even or slightly ahead in every case. My gold stocks were taking up too much buying power. I still believe in the yellow stuff long term, but don't know if that'll be 6 months or 2 years. Either way wanted to raised more cash for either OSX, XNG or tech buying opps if they present themselves. Also want to say very liquid ahead of paying 33% of my portfolio in taxes in a few months (I'm assuming a worse case scenario of paying 50% since most of my gains last year were ST).

In terms of gold I expected that breaking 3000, 2500 and making news lows on the Nasdaq would scare more people into a defensive posture. I also expected that the dollar pulling back would also help. Since the POG is not reacting well to these events I'd rather sit back and re-evaluate. Greenspan's agressive rate cuts probably put any break of Nasdaq 2000 on hold for the time being.
