Oh and BTW...I'm pretty sure CYCH powers BlueLight.com. Almost certain....Yea..pretty sure...

Bluelight stats through the roof
(December 27, 2000) San Francisco-based BlueLight.com, Kmart's e-commerce company, announced the overall shopping statistics for the 2000 holiday season today, posting an impressive 1,000% gain in overall sales and an 823% jump in traffic, when compared to the same period in 1999. In addition, BlueLight's online shopping site bucked industry trends by attracting more married females with children to its site than the average Internet shopper, who research shows is a married male between 18- and 34-years old. BlueLight's official holiday shopping season ran from Oct. 30 to Dec. 21. Sales on the BlueLight.com online shopping site increased more than 1,060% compared to the same period last year, when Kmart ran the site as www.kmart.com. Peak sales days included Friday, Nov. 24 and Sunday, Dec. 10. Top sales weeks were the weeks of Dec. 3 and Dec. 10. From the first week of November to the week of December 17th, BlueLight sales increased more than 304%. Sales in the month of December climbed 30% over those in November. BlueLight also saw significant traffic increases to its site during the holiday shopping season, according to MediaMetrix. Site visits jumped 823.5% over the same period last year. More than 9.11 million unique visitors shopped at BlueLight.com through week ending 12/17. The average shopper was a married female in her mid- to late-thirties with at least one child. In contrast, the average Kmart shopper is a married female in her mid-40s. The typical Internet shopper, according to Scarborough Research, is a married male between 18- and 34-years old. Overall sales on BlueLight.com were distributed evenly across the country during the holiday shopping season, with New York grabbing the top spot. The top five sales cities in order are: New York, San Francisco, Chicago, Philadelphia and Houston. BlueLight offered free shipping and free shipping upgrades to consumers. BlueLight saw a significant jump in sales because of these programs.

For the first time, women made up the majority of holiday shoppers (at 56%, compared with 50% in 1999) and are positioned to become the power behind online shopping.

I'm hear to tell ya, "Mama took to it like a Duck on Water"

It went like this;

Mama, "Give me the credit card number"

Me, "Why?"

Mama, "I'm gonna do the shopping on the Net if all you are gonna do is watch TV on the election results"

Me, "Ok, here it is"

Couple days later.....

Shit started showing up from everywhere on from the UPS Man at the Office. She did most of that Power shopping all in one sitting one night...bout 4 hours. One note, Clothes...you want to buy those where there is a store near you for return on size or something....she did Pennys, which made that part easy. The bulk of the stuff though was the only way to shop.

Go Mamas Go!
