>>>9 figure loss day for a big short trader, 40 point move with a 280 contracts of S&P is no joke<<<

YIKES!

I was short/long/short/ flat.....waiting for lunch to finish( why did I care?)...and missed the muther of all long futures move...

I was quick enough to buy a few stocks long...took profit alittle too quick...

I expect a small pullback...but nothing to compensate for todays futures move...perhaps another .25 Jan 30 and a forth coming Bush tax cut by Sept.?

the market should see some recovery by March-June?

play big---lose big? if you could afford to play that big..you will recover soon enough...I'm sorry Ike , that was a misfortune....I expected a move Friday...not today?

Best, Jeff

I try to keep out of the lime light of the SI, however I know I have to stay and save myself and my friends from lot of 'showdy' characters' who would never lose money even when they are short, you will see that all their shorts were automatically converted to longs, the pits were so noisy that no orders could be placed today, but take some time out and read the people who are self acclaimed leaders of SI they all covered within first five minutes of rate cuts,

Gee, Ike, I would like you to know that I have never said nor thought anything bad about you. I also do not think anyone would ever consider doing so, seriously.

Oh, by the way, Alan Greenspan called me just as the news went out and I reversed to Long and made a ton.

Just kidding, obviously. No one could have reversed on that news. From what I understand people had a better chance on the E-mini than the pit. But no way any were selling into that wave. *

And no, I did not reverse and make a ton. That was a joke.

*EDIT

But no way any were selling into that wave.

Therefore, one could not cover much less reverse.

Ike, I read your earlier messages and thought that you were Long. Then I read the next after this and re-read this post of yours.

I'm sorry that it seems now that I was mistaken. Short into that must have been a difficult experience, I'm truly sorry. I would not wish that on my worst enemy.

I have been curious about this comment. A 40 point move with 280 contracts will not net you a 9 figure loss. So what else happened to him?
