This was a dreadful time - December + bad weather. Yes, the rate hike will help immensely. When she finds a house and meets neighbors, that sort of thing, she will feel better.

Carolyn and bp: your exchange on bp's daughter, though delightful, makes it difficult for right wing extremists to be taken seriously. I mean, how can we be taken seriously as extremists if we appear all warm and fuzzy? Perhaps you could include some good stuff in your exchanges. For example, instead of an innocuous message like "She just started her new job yesterday. Planning on house hunting soon. Still haven't sold their house here, though, perhaps the rate cut will help." You could write "She just started her new job yesterday, and is looking forward to the opportunity to emasculate some left wing liberal media punks and further the great right wing causes. Planning on house hunting soon. Still haven't sold their house here, because of the evil influences of the commie-dominated realtors union. Perhaps the rate cut, promulgated by capitalism-guru Greenspan and all right-thinking anti-socialist economists, will help." Up with the VRWC!!!
