Anyone following ANYBODY's advice here on SI alone......needs to do more dd, of course.

Thought maybe you meant this part:

"then today Easy Al gives you a cheap 300 point up day"

That doesn't work......Biggest percentage gain, biggest point gain, largest volume.....I'd hardly call that cheap.

And it put my portfolio within striking distance of new highs......

Maybe I'm not thinking right, but somehow I think I might re-evaluate my investing strategies if my criteria for picking a broker were for the convenience of easily paying the margin calls.
