Standing in line at the bank cashing their huge proceeds checks. Bears don't bank in the woods. And then they will be digging thru all the high flying garbage to see where the next school of fish will be migrating. Then we feed again.

Recycled, like blackberries into bear sheeet. Thank you RIMM ;)

Actually I cashed out more today than have for a while. Lost a bit over what they were but then again when you are 25% to 46% up on some you dont mind giving some back on the way out.

How did you do in 2000?

Oh, sorry to hear that!

Hi Contquistodor,
I don't go to long threads and gloat when the market is down. Surprised you feel the need to gloat here when the market is up.

You should know that many short investors on this thread are very careful in their short selections and allocation. Movements like today, often provide more opportunity to short stocks that are losers regardless of market conditions.

Thus some of us are not crying in our soup, as we have taken significant profits already and now have additional opportunities.

Cheers.
Steve h

In all fairness...

one must admit that the bears have had the upper hand lately and although many stocks enjoyed substantial gains today [from both buying and short covering] In many cases the shorts have been in from much higher prices and the bounce is relatively insignificant.

having said that, i have no doubt that MANY shorts got burnt today, especially the johnny-come-latelies.

Bulls and Bears both have a tendency to make idiots of themselves at times.
